Katie Popperwell

Katie Popperwell is a multi-disciplinary creative producer, strategist and cultural critic. During her 20-year career in the arts she has played multiple roles within the creative sector, ranging from consulting for businesses, universities and community organisations, to creating programmes of work for major UK festivals including Manchester International Festival, 14-18 NOW and, most recently, UNBOXED: Creativity in the UK, where she led on international partnerships, designing and delivering a programme of international engagement and a cross-cutting programme of thought leadership including research, events and digital content. As a journalist and broadcaster she has written for a variety of newspapers and journals. She is a former presenter of BBC 6Music news and BBC Radio 4’s flagship arts programme Front Row, and regularly chairs conversations with high profile artists and writers in festival contexts. Katie is a trustee of Manchester Unesco City of Literature.
